“This is an award focusing on design by students which will become a commercial product. I'm filled with deep emotion as the works we selected last year are sold as products. Even if the items are somewhat rough-cut now, it's great if they are put on the market next year. Since I personally like technology, I hope young people will create something with friendly design with understanding of things such as wireless charging and Bluetooth technology. Combining design and technology, it will be great to see something only young people can come up with.”

“I believe works that reflect the award theme were selected. I was impressed that so many different ideas were born under one theme. Commercialization will be realized through efforts of the designer and other people involved. It is our responsibility to send out those products into the world, in the same way we did last year.”

“I spent time asking questions to myself as we were faced with a question of “what is iida?”, rather than screening process itself. Each of the works had that kind of energy and I hope to utilize that energy in commercialization process.”
