【au Easy Payment】 The code MPLE0140 (Usage limit exceeded for service group/product type) is displayed and the service cannot be used

It is displayed when the au Pay Balance limit for charging has been exceeded, or if you have a contract that does not allow charging from au Easy Payment.

  • Cause 1: The au Pay Balance limit for charging with au Easy Payment has been exceeded

    At au Easy Payment, there is a au Pay Balance limit for charging that is separate from the overall usage limit.

    This message is displayed when the limit for charging the au Pay Balance for the month has been fully used. 

    Once the limit for charging has been fully used, you will no longer be able to use au Easy Payment to charge the au PAY Balance during that month.

    • The upper limit for charging to your au PAY Balance is set according to the customer's payment and usage status as well as contract details. It cannot be changed by the customer. To check your current upper limit click here.

  • How to deal with it (Cause 1): Use other charging methods
  • How to deal with it (Cause 1): Wait the next month to use it

    The limit is reset gradually for each customer on the 1st of every month.

    • You may still encounter the over limit error in the next day morning. Please use au Easy Payment on or after the 2nd of the following month.
  • Cause 2: Contracts that do not allow charging with au Easy Payment

    The following customers can not charge with au Easy Payment

    • Minors whose method of payment for the monthly bill is set to Paper Bill (invoice).
    • Customers who have been subscribed for less than 7 months, and whose method of payment for the monthly bill is set to Paper Bill (invoice).
    • Customers whose method of payment for the monthly bill is set to a incompatible credit card.
  • How to deal with it (Cause 2): Use other charging methods
  • How to deal with it (Cause 2): Change the payment method of your au monthly bill

    By changing the payment method of your au monthly bill to direct debit from bank account or a compatible credit card, you will be able to charge your au Pay with au Easy Payment.

    • Normally, the payment will change from the month following the procedure completion.
  • All of the indicated amounts exclude tax unless otherwise specified.
