About Installment Payments

  • The number of devices that can be purchased via installment: up 3 in total per au communication service contract (= 1 phone number).
    • Even if you purchased a mobile phone with a lump-sum payment, if you purchased the "au +1 collection" accessory with an installment payment, it counts as one device in the installment payment process.

    • If you are already making installment payments for 3 devices per one au communication service contract and want to purchase a new mobile phone with installment payments, you can make a purchase by applying for a lump-sum settlement of the remaining installment for any one of the 3 devices.

    • The maximum number of contracts possible for one person (one contract holder) is 5 au communication service contracts (= 5 phone numbers).
  • Payment after upgrading the device: The old device charges will be combined with the new device charges and billed in installments every month.
  • Period restriction for installment payment: You can upgrade the device within 6 months including the month of purchase of your current device, but you cannot purchase a new device with installment payments.
    • You can purchase a new device in a lump-sum payment.
  • Payment after cancellation / MNP transfer

Even after cancellation, the billing method is the same as during your au contract.

If there is a remaining installment payment for the device, you will continue to be charged only for the installment payment. You can also apply for a lump-sum settlement of the remaining installment payment.

  • All of the indicated amounts exclude tax unless otherwise specified.
