Charges

Support Information

  1. If a subscription is commenced, or a subscription is canceled, in the middle of a month, basic monthly charges (including free calling values) are calculated on a per diem basis.
  2. The free calling time set by each price plan cannot be used to cover international calling charges (excluding those under the au International Call Service), Prepaid Service calling charges, and TELE-Dome (0180) and Navidial (0570) service charges.
  3. Charged services in use across a change of date will be charged as per the ending date.
  4. If you use "LTE Plan/LTE Plan(V)" , you can make an application for a change of "Call Wide 24" and "au Flat Rate 24" (addition and abolition) as a change of Price Plan. The timing of the change can be selected either from "Current Month" or "Following Month" . If you select Current Month, the change will become effective on the date of application. The third or subsequent changes within the same month will be charged 1,000 yen per change. Depending on the timing, the change will become effective from the following month, and if you select the "Following Month" , from the second following month. If you make a change concurrently with a change of model/terminal enhancement and select "Current Month" , it will become effective on the date of delivery. If case of a change concurrently with a change of model/terminal enhancement, which involves the purchase of a au cellular phone will not be counted as the times of the change of Price Plan.
  5. If you use WIN Price Plan , the change will become effective from the following month, however, an application made at the end of a month may result in the consequence that the change will become effective from the second following month (change fees are not charged).
  6. If you use LTE Single Service Price Plan, the change will become effective from the following month, however, an application made at the end of a month may result in the consequence that the change will become effective from the second following month.
  7. Taking effect of the price plan selected when changing models or purchasing an additional phone

    • The rate plan that you selected when changing a model or adding a model is applied from the date of the delivery (the date of the line switch). However, the plan is applied from the month following the month of the delivery if you change by using the model you bring in and the same method.
    • If you have already changed price plans, and the new price plan is to take effect in the following month, prior to purchasing a new au mobile phone to change models or as an additional phone without selecting a new price plan, the price plan becomes effective on the day of delivery of the phone. However, if the new phone is delivered to customers in the following month or later, the price plan becomes effective in the following month. If you have applied for a packet communication flat-rate service that is to take effect in the following month, prior to the price plan change mentioned above from Unlimited Calling Plan(Smart phone)/Unlimited Calling Plan(Smart phone)(V)/Unlimited Calling Plan(Mobile phone・Data)/Unlimited Calling Plan(Mobile phone)/Plan E Simple/ Plan E/Plan F (IS) Simple/Plan F (IS) to any other price plan, the packet communication flat-rate service becomes effective on the day of delivery of the phone.

    Also, when the above price plans are switched from "Plan E Simple/Plan E/Plan F (IS) Simple/Plan F (IS)" to another price plan, if there is a prior application for packet transmission charge discount services for the following month, application of packet transmission charge discount services will also be switched to begin from the date of delivery.

  8. au price plans do not apply to international call charges. International call charges are charged separately according to the prices set by each international telecom carrier.
  9. The "Plan-based Price Display Service" is for reference only. The figures indicated by the service may differ from actual charges to be billed. Each price plan requires users to set a certain multiplier to calculate prices using their au mobile phone.
  10. The price plan that WIN Single Service subscribers can select differs depending on the model used.

    • DATA08W, DATA01, DATA02 → WIN Single-Flat WiMAX (Simple course), WIN Single-Teigaku WiMAX (Simple/Full Support course)
    • W04K, W07K → Either WIN Single SS, S, M, L or LL
    • DATA07, DATA06, DATA05, W05K, W06K → WIN Single-Teigaku (Simple/Full Support course)
  11. Unlimited Calling Plan(Smart phone)/Unlimited Calling Plan(Smart phone)(V)/Unlimited Calling Plan(Smart phone)(VK)

    • [1] Flat-rate voice calls with Unlimited Calling Plan(Smart phone)/Unlimited Calling Plan(Smart phone)(V) )/Unlimited Calling Plan(Smart phone)(VK)do not apply to voice calls to phone numbers starting with 0180, 0570, or other numbers that are charged by other carriers, voice calls to directory assistance (104), SMS transmissions, voice calls to satellite phones/ship satellite phones, and voice calls to phone numbers that KDDI separately determines. Also, international calls and calls made to and from overseas are not applicable.
    • [2] A contract for both Unlimited Calling Plan/Unlimited Calling Plan(V) and Flat-rate Dat/Flat-rate Data(V) is required. If you apply for Flat-rate Data/Flat-rate Data(V)/Flat-rate Data(VK), you can give a portion of your contracted data quantities or receive a portion from a family member's contracted data quantities through the Data Gift service between family members who are subscribed to au Smart Value or applied to combined billing or the KDDI Collective Billing Service. The name and au mobile phone number of the customer who receives data quantities appear on the procedure of the customer who gives the quantities.
      • * A family group refers to an au Smart Value group or a combined billing/KDDI Collective Billing Service group (as of August 2014). The family group may change in the future.
  12. Unlimited Calling Plan S/Unlimited Calling Plan S(V)

  16. Simple course plans

    Customers who fall under either A or B described below can subscribe to a "Simple course plan."
    A: Customers who select the Simple course when purchasing a new au mobile phone
    B: Customers whose Full Support contract has expired or who have already paid Full Support cancellation fees

    • [1] When "Smile-heart Discount" subscribers choose Simple Plan S or Simple Plan L, they receive a discount on calling charges, but not on basic monthly charges. If they cancel or suspend au mobile subscription, or cancel a discount plan, during the term of the discount plan contract, cancellation fees are charged.
    • [2] If customers subscribing to the Everybody Discount/Everybody Discount Single, Everybody Discount Light, or One-year Discounted Subscription change price plans to a Simple course plan, the discount remains effective and the contract period continues. Cancellation fees are charged for each discount plan if customers cancel or suspend the subscription, or cancel the discount plan during the term of the discount plan contract.
    • [3] If customers subscribe to Simple Plan S or Simple Plan L as well as the "Family/Business Discount" , "Group-discount" or other discount plans, they cannot receive the discount on basic monthly charges offered by each discount plan.
    • [4] If customers subscribe to Simple Plan S or Simple Plan L as well as "Call-wide", they cannot receive the discount offered by "Call-wide".
  17. Unlimited Calling Plan(Mobile phone・Data)/Unlimited Calling Plan(Mobile phone)

    • Flat-rate voice calls with Unlimited Calling Plan(Smart phone) do not apply to voice calls to phone numbers starting with 0180, 0570, or other numbers that are charged by other carriers, voice calls to directory assistance (104), SMS transmissions, voice calls to satellite phones/ship satellite phones, and voice calls to phone numbers that KDDI separately determines. Also, international calls and calls made to and from overseas are not applicable.
    • Customers cannot subscribe to Double-Teigaku-Super Light or another packet communication flat-rate service. If a subscriber of a packet communication flat-rate service switches to this plan, the packet communication flat-rate service will automatically be cancelled.
  18. Plan E Simple/Plan E/Plan F (IS) Simple/Plan F (IS)

    • Customers must apply for the EZ WIN course or IS NET course (an additional ¥300).
    • Customers using this plan may not sign up for packet transmission charge discount services such as "Double-Teigaku Super-Light." If customers who are signed up for packet transmission charge discount services switch to Plan E Simple/Plan E/Plan F (IS) Simple/Plan F (IS), their packet transmission charge discount service will automatically be canceled.
    • Rates for packet transmissions used abroad (please refer to "International Roaming Service (au World Service)") differ from those in Japan, and are not subject to packet transmission fixed rates or discount services.
    • Plan E Simple/Plan E/Plan F (IS) Simple/Plan F (IS) are "no free calling" plans. When customers switch over to Plan E Simple/Plan E/Plan F (IS) Simple/Plan F (IS), the carry-over from their previous plan will cease to be applicable. There will be no carry-over from the month in which the plan was switched to the following month.
    • For customers using Plan E Simple/Plan E, free E-mail is limited to EZ WIN E-mail (addresses ending in @ezweb.ne.jp or @▲▲.biz.ezweb.ne.jp), and must be sent and received in Japan. E-mail transmission from smartphones is not free of charge, and there will be packet transmission charges.
  19. Plan Z Simple

    • Free calling to au mobile phones (1:00 to 21:00)
      Special calls such as Answering Service (Voice Mail) (1417, 09044441417, remote operation) are not free of charge.
    • Plan Z Simple is for the Simple course. There is no plan offered for the Full support course.
  20. Plan W Simple/Plan W

    • Free calling to au mobile phones (1:00 to 21:00)
      Special calls such as Answering Service (Voice Mail) (1417, 09044441417, remote operation) are not free of charge.

      • [2] Free calling under Plan W Simple/Plan W cannot be shared under Free carry-over or Family discount/Business discount plans.
      • [3] Plan W Simple/Plan W calling charges only apply to au International Call Service charges, and au World Service calling and data charges overseas, even if free calling has been carried over from a prior plan.     • au International Call Service (dial 001, 010, or 005345)

      • [1] Calling charges under Plan W Simple/Plan W are different from those of other plans.
      • [2] Service contracts for Special Type 1 Telephone Service (001 international mobile phone discount service such as "001 Kokusai Mobile Talk") take priority in 001 dial calls, and Plan W Simple/Plan W charges do not apply. The Special Type 1 Telephone Service contract must be cancelled before Plan W Simple/Plan W charges become applicable.   • If you cancel the Data Charge option, change to a rate plan that is not eligible, or suspend or cancel the line when the purchased data quantity remains, the remaining data quantity is invalid and no longer available.
  • If you apply for Data Charge, you can give a portion of your contracted data amount or receive a portion from a family member's contracted data amount through the Data Gift service between family members who are subscribed to au Smart Value or applied to combined billing or the KDDI Collective Billing Service.
  • The name and au mobile phone number of the customer who receives data quantities appear on the procedure of the customer who gives the quantities.
  • If charge amounts are set to multiple amounts, be sure to cancel the charging settings before transferring possession. If the charging settings are still in effect when performing transfer procedures, the charging settings will be passed to the person who gains possession of the device and that person may be charged.

<Data Charge>

  • A Data Charge Card is valid for 180 days after purchase.
  • The Charge Reservation function is not available. Immediately after you apply for charge with the Data Charge Card, charge is performed.
  • The charged data amount is valid for 62 days after purchase.
  • Data amounts added with a Data Charge Card are not eligible for Data Gifts.
  • If you change your plan/service to one that is not eligible for Data Charge, or cancel or transfer your line, the charged data amount will become unavailable. (For customers with multiple lines tied to an au ID, this applies if all lines are changed or procedure is implemented.)
  • A Data Charge Card can be purchased only with cash. A Data Charge Card and the code listed on the card cannot be refunded, converted into cash, or reissued.
  • KDDI is not responsible for theft, unauthorized use, loss, etc. of a Data Charge Card and the code listed on the card.
  • A Data Charge Card is not available for lines contracted for LTE Data Prepaid.

■Data Share

  • To use this service, registration of an au ID and subscription to Data Charge are required. For the details about Data Charge, see Data Charge.

  • If you cancel the Data Share setting for some lines using Data Share, the data amount for the cancelled lines become 0 and the data amount remains on the lines set for Data Share.
  • Applications for user registration, transfer, or succession (including transfer to other family members) on the last day of the month are not allowed for lines using Data Share.The consolidated au ID is separated, and the Data Share setting is automatically cancelled. The monthly data amount that can be used the following month may not be applied.
  • If lines using Data Share include rate plans or flat rate data (packet communication charges) services that are not eligible for Data Gift, the other lines using Data Share are not eligible for Data Gift as well. When using Data Share, a change to an eligible rate plan or flat rate data (packet communication charges) service is required for using Data Gift.

  • With regard to the distribution of data amounts, the name and au mobile phone number of the person receiving the data amount is displayed for the customer giving the data amount.
  • Data Gifts are unavailable from 11 PM of the last day of the month to 9 AM of the first day of the following month due to periodic maintenance.
  • If you are performing transfer procedures, you cannot be selected as the sender of a Data Gift.

■Data Carryover

  • If you have a contract with an eligible rate plan/Flat-rate Data service and are subscribed to Data Charge, you can carry over and use the unused data amount in a month to the next month.
  • If you have a contract with one of the following rate plans or Flat-rate Data services and are also subscribed to Data Charge, this service is automatically applied without an application.

One-year Discounted Subscription

Sign up for a one-year continuous subscription and receive a discount on basic monthly charges.

  1. "One-year Discounted Subscription" is offered on the basis of a one-year term subscription contract, and is renewed every one years unless an application for withdrawal is made.
  2. As contract terms are in 1 year units, if a customer cancels the contract, or terminate the One-year Discounted Subscription during the term of the contract, a cancellation fee of ¥3,000 is charged, regardless of how many years a customer has been subscribed to the discount plan (excluding the renewal period). Cancellation fees are not charged to "Full Support course" users signed up for "Full Support course" price plans or to users who subscribed to One-year Discounted Subscription consecutively from February 2004.
  3. If you suspend a contract during the contract period, the contract cancellation fee will be deferred. During the period while the contract fee is deferred, if you cancel the contract or do not reapply for Everybody Discount, Everybody Discount Single, Everybody Discount Light, One-year Discounted Subscription, or Smile-heart Discount, the deferred contract cancellation fee will be billed. (A contract cancellation fee is not incurred if a contract is canceled after the completion of 5 years).
  4. "One-year Discounted Subscription" becomes effective from the month the contract is concluded.

Smile-heart Discount

Sign up for a one-year continuous subscription and receive a 50% discount on basic monthly charges, charges for calls to au
mobile phones and fixed-line phones, and SMS transmission charges; and a 20% discount on calls to other companies' mobile and PHS phones, and SMS transmission charges.

  1. "Smile-heart Discount" cannot be used together with "Call Designation Discount". If you terminate Call Designation Discount and apply for Smile Heart Discount, Smile Heart Discount will be applied from the month following the application.
  2. The "Smile-heart Discount" becomes effective from the month the contract is concluded.
  3. When the Smile-heart Discount is used together with the Family Discount, the subscriber is counted as one family member of the Family Discount, but cannot benefit from the basic monthly charge discount (only the Smile-heart Discount applies). However, domestic calls and SMS to members of the same Family Discount group are free of charge. Sharing Course users can share free calling times with other members of the same group.
  4. The "Smile-heart Discount" does not apply to EZweb connection charges, data transmission charges (including packet transmission charges), au World Service calling and transmission charges for calls made and transmission services used abroad, EZ apps transmission charges, international calling charges (including those under the au International Call Service), 104 directory assistance service charges, and Prepaid Service calling charges. However, 104 directory assistance service is free of charge for subscribers to the "Smile-heart Discount" plan.
  5. More than one "Smile-heart Discount" contracts cannot be made under the name of the same subscriber.
  6. Everybody Discount

Sign up for a two-year continuous subscription and receive a discount on basic monthly charges.

  1. "Everybody Discount" is offered on the basis of a two-year subscription contract, and is renewed every two years unless an application for withdrawal is made.
  2. As contract terms are in 2 year units, if a customer cancels the contract, or terminates Everybody Discount during the term of the contract, a cancellation fee of ¥9,500 is charged, regardless of how many years a customer has been subscribed to the discount plan (2-month renewal period). If the number of years subscribed is 11 or more, and the customer is using Everybody Discount and Family Discount or Business Discount in combination, the cancellation fee is ¥3,000. Cancellation fees are not charged to "Full Support course" users signed up for "Full Support course" price plans.
  3. If you suspend a contract during the contract period, the contract cancellation fee will be deferred. During the period while the contract fee is deferred, if you cancel the contract or do not reapply for Everybody Discount, Everybody Discount Single, Everybody Discount Light, or Smile-heart Discount, the deferred contract cancellation fee will be billed. (A contract cancellation fee is not incurred if a contract is canceled after the completion of 5 years).

The month after the customer signs up for Everybody Discount is counted as the first month of the Everybody Discount contract term. The contract term of One-year Discounted Subscription, Smile-heart Discount, or Everybody Discount Light cannot be carried over.
  7. When Everybody Discount is used together with the Family Discount/Business Discount, the discount of Everybody Discount applies, and the subscriber is counted as one member of the Family Discount/Business Discount. Domestic calling charges and SMS sending charges to members of the same Family Discount/Business Discount group are free of charge. Sharing Course users can share free calling times with other members of the same group.
  8. Simple Plan S and Simple Plan L subscribers cannot receive the discount offered by the "Everybody Discount." If customers cancel or suspend au mobile subscription, or cancel the "Everybody Discount," during the term of the discount plan contract, cancellation fees are charged (2-month renewal period).
  9. When customers who are signed up for the "Everybody Discount" change models to the LTE Single service or CDMA 1X WIN Single service, they are switched over to "Everybody Discount Single," and their "Everybody Discount" contract term is carried over to the "Everybody Discount Single" contract term. Also, when customers who are signed up for "Everybody Discount Single" change to the LTE Single service or CDMA 1X WIN Single service, they are switched over to "Everybody Discount," and their "Everybody Discount Single" contract term is carried over to the "Everybody Discount" contract term.
  10. For au Business Double Discount to be applied, customers must subscribe to both Everybody Discount (or Everybody Discount Light) and Business Call/Packet Discount. Subscribers to Business Call/Packet Discount only are not eligible for au Business Double Discount.

Everybody Discount Single

Basic monthly charges are discounted when customers agree to continue using the service for two years!
With WiMAX 2+ Flat for DATA EX, the basic charge is ¥4,880. With WiMAX 2+ Flat for DATA, the basic charge is ¥4,196. With WIN Single Flat WiMAX (Simple), the basic charge is ¥5,200!

  1. "Everybody Discount Single" contract terms are measured in two-year units, and are automatically renewed every two years if no request for cancellation is received.

Everybody Discount Light

Sign up for a two-year continuous subscription and receive a discount on basic monthly charges. After the end of the second year, the same discount continues to apply for subsequent years, and there is no contract cancellation fee.

  1. The Everybody Discount Light contract period is two years, and the period from the subscription date to the beginning of the following month is counted as the first month. The price discount continues to be applied in the 25th and subsequent months.
  2. If the Everybody Discount Light contract is terminated, suspended, or canceled during the two-year contract period, a contract cancellation fee of 9,500 yen is incurred.
  3. If you suspend a contract during the contract period, the contract cancellation fee will be deferred. During the period while the contract fee is deferred, if you cancel the contract or do not reapply for Everybody Discount Light, Everybody Discount, Everybody Discount Single, or Smile-heart Discount, the deferred contract cancellation fee will be billed. (A contract cancellation fee is not incurred if a contract is canceled after the completion of 5 years).
  4. Everybody Discount Light becomes effective from the month the contract is concluded. The discount amount for the month the contract is concluded is calculated on a per diem basis.
  5. Please refer to the Price Plan List for the basic monthly charges of each price plan with the Everybody Discount Light applied.
  6. If customers switch to Everybody Discount Light from a price discount plan such as One-year Discounted Subscription or Everybody Discount, no contract cancellation fee is incurred. The contract term of the previous plan is not carried over. However, a contract cancellation fee will be incurred when switching from Tablet Plan ds (3-year contract) (3-year contract/L) or WiMAX 2+ Flat for DATA (4-year contract).
  7. When Everybody Discount Light is used together with the Family Discount/Business Discount, the discount of Everybody Discount Light applies, and the subscriber is counted as one member of the Family Discount/Business Discount group. Domestic calling charges and SMS sending charges to members of the same Family Discount/Business Discount group are free of charge.
  8. For au Business Double Discount to be applied, customers must subscribe to both Everybody Discount Light (or Everybody Discount) and Business Call/Packet Discount. Subscribers to Business Call/Packet Discount only are not eligible for au Business Double Discount.
  9. In the month that you apply for Everybody Discount Light, if you switch from a plan that is not eligible for Everybody Discount Light to a plan that is eligible, the discount under the previous contract (such as Everybody Discount) applies to the period before switching to the plan that is eligible for Everybody Discount Light. However, for the near term, the discount amount under the subscription to Everybody Discount may apply in the month that you switch, even if the plan is not eligible for Everybody Discount Light.

Family Discount/Business Discount

Family members and members on the same Business account using au receive a 25% discount on basic monthly charges, and a 30% discount on domestic calling charges between group members. Furthermore, SMS sending charges between family members or members in the same Business Discount group are free of charge. When the Sharing Course is chosen, free calling times can also be shared. When combined with the Everybody Discount, Everybody Discount Light, and Smile-heart Discount (individuals only), domestic calls to family members or members in the same Business Discount group are free of charge 24 hours a day!

  1. This plan can be subscribed to under the subscriber's name or a family member's name. Two to ten phone numbers per family can be registered with the plan.
  2. The "Family Discount" or "Business Discount" is a service offering discounts on basic monthly charges and calling charges for calls made between members of the same group. Customers who wish to apply for the discount plan are requested to obtain the consent of their family members making up the "Family Discount" group as to the details filled in the application form before making an application.
  3. Two or more family groups cannot share the same au mobile phone number.
  4. The "Family Discount" or "Business Discount" normally takes effect immediately during the month of application, but depending on when such application is made, there may be cases in which it does not become effective until the following month.
  5. The "Family Discount" or "Business Discount" is not available to CDMA 1X WIN Single Service subscribers.
  6. When Everybody Discount or Everybody Discount Light is used together with the Family Discount/Business Discount, the discount of Everybody Discount or Everybody Discount Light applies, and the subscriber is counted as one member of the Family Discount/Business Discount group.   7. If subscribers apply for the One-year Discounted Subscription (excluding Simple Plan S and Simple Plan L) and apply for the Family Discount or Business Discount, the discount rates for the combined One-year Discounted Subscription and Family Discount or Business Discount, rather than their respective discount rates on basic monthly charges, apply. If subscribers to au for the 11th year or more use the Family Discount or Business Discount together with the One-year Discounted Subscription, they are eligible for free domestic calls to the same Family Discount or Business Discount group.
  8. A subscriber to the Smile-heart Discount is counted as one family member for the Family Discount, but cannot benefit from the basic monthly charge discount (only the Smile-heart Discount applies). However, domestic calls and SMS to members of the same Family Discount group are free of charge. Sharing Course users can share free calling times with other members of the same group.
  9. Long phone calls that occur repeatedly, or other abnormal phone calls that au judges to have an adverse effect on its overall service, may be terminated by au.
  10. Unlimited Calling Plan(Smart phone)/Unlimited Calling Plan(Smart phone)(V)/ Unlimited Calling Plan S/Unlimited Calling Plan S(V)/Unlimited Calling Plan(Smart phone)(VK), Junior Smartphone Plan, Senior Plan/Senior Plan(V), Unlimited Calling Plan(Mobile phone・Data) , Unlimited Calling Plan(Mobile phone) is not eligible for a discount of the basic monthly charge that is provided by Family Discount/Business Discount.

Discounts applied to Plan F (IS) Simple/Plan F (IS) basic monthly charges with the "Family Discount" or "Business Discount," or combined use of the "One-year Discounted Subscription" and "Family Discount" or "Business Discount," differ from those applied to other plans.   12. If Simple Plan S and Simple Plan Lusers apply for the "Family Discount" or "Business Discount," they cannot receive discounts on basic monthly charges.
  13. The "Family Discount" or "Business Discount" can be used together with the "Call Designation Discount." If phone numbers registered with the "Family Discount" or "Business Discount" are designated for the "Call Designation Discount" , a combined discount rate of 60% applies to calling charges for calls to the designated family members. However, if the "Family Discount" or "Business Discount" is already used together with the "Everybody Discount" or "Smile-heart Discount," or if subscribers to au for the 11th year or over use the "Family Discount" or "Business Discount" together with the "One-year Discounted Subscription," the applicable combined discount is applied instead of the 60% discount.
  14. The "Family Discount" or "Business Discount" cannot be used together with "Group-discount" " or "Call-wide."
  15. The discount or free domestic calling to the same Family Discount or Business Discount group members does not apply to E-mail transmission charges, EZ apps transmission charges, au World Service calling and transmission charges for calls made and transmission services used abroad, and calling charges from prepaid cards.
  16. Each family or business member can choose either "CARRY OVER Course" or "Sharing Course." The "CARRY OVER Course" allows a customer to carry over unused free calling times indefinitely, while with the "Sharing Course," group members can share unused free calling times in contract units. (Customers cannot select both the "Sharing Course" and "CARRY OVER Course" at the same time.)
  17. If the "Sharing Course" is chosen, unused free calling times of other family members from other contracts can be used to cover calling charges for times exceeding prescribed free calling time, as well as calling charges under plans for which no free calling time is available. Please note that it cannot be used to cover excess packet transmission charges, international calling charges (including those under the au International Call Service), or au World Service calling and transmission charges for calls made and transmission services used abroad. In addition, even if a member of the family subscribing to the packet transmission charge discount service has not used all of the available free packets, the remaining packets cannot be used to cover the packet transmission charges of other members of the family.Some rate plans may not be eligible for the Sharing Course. The billing code may change.

  18. If the number of "Sharing Course" subscribers in the group decreases to only one, the course is not automatically changed to the "CARRY OVER Course." A separate application is required if the subscriber wishes to change to the "CARRY OVER Course."
  19. If an application is made to cancel the "Family Discount" or "Business Discount" for all or some of the members, or their right to use au communication services is transferred or assigned, the discount applies until the end of the previous month.
  20. If au mobile subscription of a member(s) of the same group is suspended or canceled, the "Family Discount" or "Business Discount" for the applicable member(s) is canceled.
  21. If the number of members to whom the "Family Discount" or "Business Discount" applies decreases to zero or only one, the "Family Discount" or "Business Discount" is canceled.
  22. If using the Unlimited Calling Plan S/Unlimited Calling Plan S(V), a discount of 30% on domestic calling charges to the same family members and business group members does not apply.

INDEFINITE-PERIOD CARRY OVER

Unused free calling times can be carried over indefinitely.

  1. "INDEFINITE-PERIOD CARRY OVER" is a service that allows customers to indefinitely carry over any unused portion of free calling times available with their price plan.
  2. The amount (equivalent to unused free calling times) to be carried over cannot exceed the "Carry-over Max Amount" specified for each price plan. If the price plan is changed, the "Carry-over Max Amount" of the new price plan applies. (Please refer to the Price Plan List .)

  3. This service does not apply to subscribers to price plans with which no free calling times are available (including Plan W Simple/Plan W): "Single Service".
  4. The amount carried over is nulled if the subscription is cancelled or suspended.
  5. "INDEFINITE-PERIOD CARRY OVER" automatically applies to customers who do not subscribe to the "Family/Business Discount".
  6. The "CARRY OVER Course" automatically applies to subscribers who select a price plan with which free calling times are available when signing up for the "Family/Business Discount", while the "Sharing Course" automatically applies to subscribers who select a price plan with which no free calling times are available, or Plan W Simple/Plan W. If the course is changed, the new course takes effect from the following month. However, if the customer applies for the "Family Discount" at the same time as applying for a subscription to au, the "CARRY OVER Course" takes effect immediately from that month.

Call Designation Flat Rate

* New applications are no longer accepted as of August 23, 2015.

A fixed monthly charge of ¥372 allows customers to make domestic calls to up to three designated au mobile phone numbers free of charge throughout the day. Domestic SMS is also free of charge.

  1. ¥372 a month covers all calling charges and SMS charges within Japan to up to three designated au mobile phone numbers.
  2. The discount does not apply to E-mail transmission charges, EZ apps transmission charges, au World Service calling and transmission charges for calls made and transmission services used abroad, and calling charges from prepaid cards.
  3. Phone numbers eligible for the "Call Designation Flat Rate" are limited only to au mobile phones. The discount does not apply if the designated phone number is switched from au to another carrier using MNP.
  4. The "Call Designation Flat Rate" does not apply if the designated phone number is a mobile phone from another carrier, or anything other than an au mobile phone.
  5. When joining this plan at the time a customer concludes a new contract, the customer can choose between having the plan effective starting in the current month, or in the following month. (In either case, the fixed charge cannot be calculated on a per diem basis.) When customers apply for the plan based on an existing contract, the plan commences from the month following application, or the month after next, depending on the timing of application.
  6. When any of the designated numbers is changed, the discount on calls to the newly designated number commences from the month following application. If the designated party cancels the phone subscription or alters the phone number, the fixed charge is still charged unless au is notified of the cancellation or alteration.
  7. The "Call Designation Flat Rate" fixed charge cannot be calculated on a per diem basis.
  8. The Call Designation Flat Rate cannot be used in combination with Call Designation Discount, Call Wide, au Flat Calling 24, Unlimited Calling Plan(Smart phone)/Unlimited Calling Plan(Smart phone)(V), Unlimited Calling Plan S, Unlimited Calling Plan S(V), Unlimited Calling Plan(Smart phone)(VK), Unlimited Calling Plan(Mobile phone・Data), or Unlimited Calling Plan(Mobile phone).

Call Designation Discount

Designate up to three au mobile phones, fixed-line phones and IP phones numbers and receive a 50% discount on calls to them with just a ¥300 fixed monthly charge.

  1. With a fixed monthly charge of ¥300, a 50% discount is applied to domestic calls made to up to three designated au mobile phone, fixed-line phone or IP phone numbers.2.
  2. E-mail transmission charges, EZ apps transmission charges, data transmission charges, overseas au World Service calling and transmission charges, SMS, and Prepaid Card service calling charges.
  3. Phone numbers of au mobile phones currently used and fixed-line and IP phones can be designated. The "Call Designation Discount" does not apply to calls to other companies' mobile and PHS phone numbers, special phone numbers for public services, etc., phone numbers beginning with * or # or 0120, 0570 and 0180 prefixes, overseas numbers, and toll-free numbers.
  4. New subscribers to au can choose either the month application is made or the following month as to when the "Call Designation Discount" takes effect. (The fixed charge cannot be calculated on a per diem basis in either case). For those other than new subscribers, the "Call Designation Discount" normally takes effect the following month, but depending on when application is made, it may not become effective until two months later.

Basic monthly charges for the WIN Single Service are discounted substantially if applications for the service and au mobile phone are made together.

  1. The subscriber to the au mobile phone and the WIN Single Service must be the same person.
  2. Only one line each can be signed up for the au mobile phone and the WIN Single Service to benefit from the "WIN Single Set Discount Service". No multiple Win Single Set Discount Service contracts can be concluded under a single line.
  3. Usually, these charges are applied during the month of customer application, but there may be cases in which application of chages begins in the following month, depending on the timing of customer application.
  4. At time of application, if customers are signed up for price discount plans that cannot be used in conjunction with the Win Single Set Discount Service, the discount will be applied starting the following month.
  5. If the subscription to the au mobile phone is cancelled or suspended, or the au mobile phone is transferred to another customer, the "WIN Single Set Discount Service" is automatically cancelled. The "WIN Single Set Discount Service" applies until the month before the service is cancelled.

With monthly charges of 477 yen, domestic calls to au Cellular Phone are free 24 hours a day.

  1. With monthly flat charges of 477 yen, domestic calls to au Cellular Phone are free 24 hours a day.
  2. Any call to special number of any type, including, au answering service (1417, 09044441417 (remote operation)), will not be subject to free call to au cellular phones.
  3. This discount service is available exclusively for "LTE Plan/LTE Plan(V)".
  4. If a subscription is commenced or cancelled in the middle of a month, the basic monthly charge is calculated on a per diem basis.

Call wide 24

+ 934 yen/month, domestic call charges are halved

  1. With monthly flat charges of 934 yen, domestic call charge of 20 yen/30 seconds will be halved to 10 yen/30 seconds, for calls to au cellular phones, and calls to other company's cellular phones and landline phones.
  2. SMS, prepaid call, Teledome (0180), Navidial (0570), and 104 number guidance are not subject to the discount.
  3. This discount service is exclusive for "LTE Plan/LTE Plan(V)".

    • [1] The discount applies for fixed-line communication services that are "in use" or whose application is "currently pending" ("Currently pending" refers to the status that KDDI can confirm in where an application is registered at a fixed-line communication service provider after an application for a fixed-line communication service is made.).
    • [2] Even after subscribing to au Smart Value, the discount is not applied in a month when conditions are not met.
    • [3] In the case of suspension or cancellation of an au mobile phone (including tablets and PCs), the discount is terminated at the end of the month of suspension or cancellation. Note that if the location where the fixed-line communication service is used changes due to relocation, you may be required to execute cancellation procedures depending on the fixed-line communication service provider of the service. For details, ask your fixed-line communication service provider.
    • [4] If the au mobile phone (including tablets and PCs) is transferred or inherited, the discount is deemed to terminate at the end of the month preceding the month in which the transfer/inheritance is made.
    • [5] If the fixed-line communication service is cancelled, the discount is deemed to terminate at the end of the month preceding the month in which such an application is made.
    • [6] If a fixed-line communication service is not launched after six months have passed since the application for au Smart Value (including when you move), the discount is gradually suspended. The discount will be applied once the fixed-line communication service is launched.
    • [7] If a fixed-line communication service is cancelled by the customer without being launched, the discount is deemed to terminate at the end of the month preceding the month in which such a cancellation is made. The discounts applied in the past are charged by being added to usage charges of au mobile phones (including tablets and PCs).
    • [8] If a fixed-line communications service is cancelled by the service provider without being launched, the discount continues to be applied for three months starting from the month following the month of cancellation. Also, for LTE Single contracts and WIN Single contracts eligible for au Smart Value (router discount), LTE Single contracts and WIN Single contracts will be regarded as a fixed-line communication service and au Smart Value will continue from the fourth month following the month of cancellation.
    • [9] If you are outside the area of an eligible fixed-line communication service or in an area where a service cannot be launched, au Smart Value is applied depending on the LTE Single contract and WIN Single contract eligible for au Smart Value (router discount). (For details on au Smart Value (router discount), refer to the au Smart Value (router discount) page.)
    • [10] This service may not be available in combination with the Cable-plus phone au mobile phone set discount or other campaigns offered by KDDI.
    • [11] There is no deadline for this campaign. KDDI will give customers advance notice of any changes to details.
  4. Application
    To apply for the discount, a contractor of an au mobile phone (including tablets and PCs) and a contractor of a fixed-line communications service should have the same family name and address. Family members over 50 years of age can apply for the discount even if the addresses are different from the contracted address of a fixed-line communications service. If family names are different or the number of au mobile phones exceeds five, proof is required showing that they are family members living at the same address (For family members over 50 years of age living at different addresses, proof is required showing that they are family members only). Also, contracts are restricted to up to 10 au mobile phone (including tablets and PCs) lines per fixed-line communications service line.

    • * If a contracting party to fixed transmission services is not a contracting party to au transmission services, the application can be made when necessary approval for treatment of the personal information or otherwise from a contracting party to fixed transmission services is obtained.

au Smart Value (router discount)

LTE Single Service or WIN Single Service basic monthly charges, sign-up commission and au.NET usage charges may be discounted for one subscriber contract per au Smart Value discount group.

  4. Application

If surnames are different, proof of family relationship and address is required. Only one line can be registered for each au Smart Value discount group, and will be counted as one of the au mobile phones in the group.

    • * If a customer subscribing to fixed-line service under au Smart Value located outside au Smart Value service area, or where connection is not possible due to provider circumstances moves to inside the service area, a request will be made to contract for fixed-line service. Au Smart Value discount will terminate if a customer moves to inside the service area and refuses to contract.
    • * If a contracting party to fixed transmission services is not a contracting party to au transmission services, the application can be made when necessary approval for treatment of the personal information or otherwise from a contracting party to fixed transmission services is obtained.

  4. Application
    • Subscribers with the same name on the au mobile phone and WiMAX 2+ supported router contract can apply.
    • Customers can apply using one au smartphone line per WiMAX 2+ supported router line.
    • A separate application from au Smart Value is required. Also, the application for this discount cannot overlap with the application for au Smart Value.

<Treatment of the customer's information in providing Au Smart Value service>

  • Pursuant to entrustment agreement with your contracted fix-line-service provider (i.e. telecom carrier providing any fix-line-service covered by Au Smart Value), KDDI (including Okinawa Cellular Telephone Company) is authorized to obtain your approval on the following matters concerning the treatment of the customer' s information. You must read the following to confirm the foregoing.
  • * In order to give information on or provide Au Smart Value service, KDDI and the fix-line-service provider will share information acquired pursuant to the contractual relation with the customer through certain information system (including telephone communication) between KDDI and the fix-line-service provider.
  • * Information regarding customers that is used and shared is the customer's name, address, phone number, date of birth, details of the Internet, phone, and TV service they have applied to or are using, the date the service is applied to, starts, or is cancelled, and information regarding the status of the contract.
  • * KDDI and the fix-line-service provider will, pursuant to the agreement between the Parties in respect of the protection of personal information, keep the customer' s information strictly confidential, and take all reasonable steps necessary to secure and safeguard such information.
  • * If you wish to request for disclosure, correction, or suspension of the use, of your personal information, or have any question or proposal, please don' t hesitate to contact the contact point as designated by your contracted fix-line-service provider, or alternatively to our helpline.
  • In regards to customers applied to au Smart Value mine, KDDI and mobile telecommunications carriers involved with the customer's contract (telecommunications carriers that provide mobile communication services eligible for au Smart Value mine and telecommunications carriers involved in providing those services) share and use customer information in accordance to the provisions in the contract.

Monthly Discount

  1. Eligible customers
    Users purchasing applicable models on Simple Course when starting subscriptions or changing/adding mobile phone models, while at the same time subscribing to a designated flat-rate packet transmission charge service

  3. Overview and period of discount campaign
    Charged fees are discounted for up to 24 months.
  • * The discount amount varies depending on the model, the timing of the purchase, or whether or not you are subscribed to au Smart Pass (¥372/month) if you are using a smartphone. A 36-month discount is available for some models.
  • * The discount applies to the total amount of monthly basic charges, domestic calling charges, domestic communication charges, and option charges (excluding the monthly basic charges of Keitai Guarantee Service Plus LTE, Keitai Guarantee Service Plus, and Keitai Guarantee Service, and other charges) after all other discounts are applied. However, the discount does not apply to the monthly basic charge of LTE Plan or LTE Double-Teigaku for Tab/Tab(i). If the total amount eligible for this discount falls below the amount of the discount, the total amount eligible for the discount shall be set as the upper limit of the discount.
  • * The discount will automatically be applied to the amount charged for the following month when the new subscription has been made or model change/addition has completed. It will end after 24 applications of the discount. Thereafter, standard fees apply.
