Be sure to switch the phone’s area settings to overseas (GSM) mode before using it overseas.

Setting the phone for overseas use |

The au phone will automatically reboot when the area setting is switched to overseas (GSM) mode. Close all applications and perform the following steps to change the setting.

On the standby screen, press the "Menu" key. Choose "GLOBAL PASSPORT Menu" with the cross key and push the "Select" key.

Choose "Set country" with the cross key and press the "Select" key

Choose "Set area" with the cross key and press the "Select" key.

Choose "Overseas (GSM)" with the cross key and press the "Select" key.

The au phone will automatically reboot, and "GSM" and "Important Notice" will appear on the standby screen.

Upon returning to Japan, perform the same steps as above, selecting "Japan" for the "Set area" option.

Choose "Set network search" with the cross key and press the "Select" key

Choose "Set mode" with the cross key and press the "Select" key

Choose "Manual" with the cross key and press the "Select" key

Choose one of the network names with the cross key and press the "Select" key.
