"Wide Support" accounts will have "Wide Support" basic monthly charge discounts applied; "Family Discount" and "One-year Discounted Subscription" basic monthly charge discounts will not apply.
This service is available to children of junior high school age or younger, and persons aged 60 and over. Children younger than elementary school age must subscribe under the names of their parent or guardian. Children of elementary or junior high school age may subscribe under their own names or under their parent's or guardian's name, and persons aged 60 and over may subscribe under their own names or under a family member's name.
Also, if the subscription title is under the parent/guardian's name or a family member's name, the service applicant must show documents to confirm his/her name and date of birth. In such cases, please apply upon receiving the consent of the applicant. When applying, we will confirm that the subscriber is the parent/guardian or a family member. "Wide Support" may be applied to only one account for each applicant. If the applicant has accounts to which "Student Discount" is being applied, "Wide Support" cannot be applied.
"Wide Support" will apply until the end of the month following the applicant's graduation from junior high school.
If subscribers to "One-year Discounted Subscription" or "Family Discount" switch to "Support Plan", the "Support Plan" or "Wide Support" will be applied from the following month's usage. Also, when current "Support Plan" subscribers make new applications for "One-year Discounted Subscription" or "Family Discount", "Wide Support" will be applied from the month of application.
Subscribers to "Everybody Discount" instead of "One-year Discounted Subscription" are also eligible.

Of course, you still get all the benefits of Family Discount!

Items required for application

To verify that users are family members, we may ask you to provide the following documents:

Applicants residing at the same address and sharing the same surname do not need to provide additional documents.
Applicants residing in the same household but having different surnames will be asked to show their health insurance certificate (during its period of validity) or a residence card (with relationship denoted).
If proof of residence cannot be obtained because family member is working away from the home or for other reasons, a health insurance certificate for use at remote locations (during its period of validity) must be provided.
If the health insurance certificate for use at remote locations contains all family members' names for discounts, then only one health insurance certificate for use at remote locations is necessary.
If the certificate does not contain all family members' names, then one health insurance certificate for use at remote locations and one health insurance certificate are necessary.
For all cases of parent-child relationships (including in-laws) not mentioned above, a copy of the family registry must be provided.

Important Notes

This plan is only available for two to ten accounts.
The discount on call charges for calls between family members does not apply to e-mail transmission charges, EZ Appli sending charges, GLOBAL PASSPORT call or data charges for services used outside of Japan, Hello Messenger call or data charges, or call charges using a CDMA Prepaid Card.
The unused free calling time of other family members cannot be used to cover the excess portion of packet communication charges, international call charges (including au International Call Service charges), or GLOBAL PASSPORT call or data charges for services used outside of Japan. In addition, even if a member of the family subscribing to a packet communication fixed-rate or discount service has not used all available free packets, the remaining packets cannot be used to cover the packet communication charges of other family members.
If an itemized invoice is requested for customers receiving consolidated billing, the invoices will be combined for all accounts.
If a customer terminates "Family Discount", the discount will be applied until the end of the month before termination.
If a customer is enrolled in "Family Discount" and a family member changes his or her plan, the family members who have selected the "Group Split" plan will not automatically be switched to the "Carry-Over" plan, even if there is only one account within the family remaining in the "Group Split" plan. Customers wishing to switch plans must submit an application to au.
Discounts do not apply to basic monthly charges for customers enrolled in Simple Plan.
